Cards are one of the main ways Paralives adds choices, bonuses, wants, and progression to everyday gameplay. Some cards appear during the day as reactions, some appear at night through your Storyteller, and others appear when your Para levels up.
This guide explains how cards work in Paralives, including daily reaction cards, temporary wants, Storyteller cards, card books, card packs, and level-up choices.
What Are Cards in Paralives?
Cards are choice-based prompts that can appear during gameplay. Depending on the type of card, they can give your Para:
Not every card does the same thing, so it helps to separate them into different types.
| Card Result |
|---|
| Temporary wants |
| Bonuses |
| Rewards |
| Long-term goals |
| Relationship changes |
| Career boosts |
| Skill boosts |
| Money |
| Level-up choices |
Types of Cards
| Card Type | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Reaction cards | Appear during the day and can become temporary wants |
| Storyteller cards | Appear at night and can give bonuses, rewards, or goals |
| Card books | Offer cards from a themed set |
| Level-up cards | Appear when your Para levels up |
| Life Goal cards | Give new long-term goals |
Daily Reaction Cards
Throughout the day, your Para can react to what they are feeling. Sometimes, but not always, these feelings can trigger reaction card choices.
These cards do not become long-term goals. Instead, they become wants that disappear at the end of the day.
Examples recorded so far include:
| Reaction | Example Want |
|---|---|
| Happy | Buy a high-end oven and level up cooking skill |
| Happy | Clean something |
| Inspired | Eat a snack |
| Inspired | Play piano for 1 hour |
Daily reaction cards are useful because they give your Para small things to do during the day. They are more temporary than goals and should be completed before the day ends if you want to use them.
Thoughts Menu
The left-hand menu includes a Thoughts option. This takes away the menu and shows the cards your Para is feeling.
This is useful when you want to check what is currently influencing your Para.
Storyteller Cards
Every evening, when your household goes to sleep, your Storyteller can offer card choices. Your Storyteller may be Stella, Maxence, or Ricardo Castello III.
The evening card system can offer three options. These may be individual Story Cards or books that lead to a themed selection of cards. Only one card can be chosen.
Some cards can give bonuses, new life goals, or rewards.

Level-Up Cards
When your Para completes goals and gains XP, they can level up.

Important: Pause Before Reading Cards
Paralives does not automatically pause when you open menus or accept goals. If you want time to properly read card options, pause the game manually first.

Final Thoughts
Cards in Paralives are more than simple pop-ups. They can shape your Para’s day, influence relationships, boost work performance, add wants, reward money, or create long-term life goals.
Daily reaction cards create short-term wants, while Storyteller cards and card books can push your household towards new goals, rewards, and bonuses. Level-up cards then add another layer of progression as your Para gains XP.
For new players, the best approach is to read each card carefully, pause before choosing, and pick the option that fits your current save. Cards can quietly steer the whole household, so choose carefully unless you enjoy letting the card gremlin drive.
