The Reaper career from The Sims 4: Life & Death lets Sims join Grim’s team at the Netherworld Department of Death. This is an active career where you can follow your Sim to work or send them alone. Each shift mixes investigation, reaping, and paperwork, with occasional emergencies.
Key Information
- Pack Required: The Sims 4: Life & Death
- Work Options: Active career; you can follow your Sim or send them alone
- Ideal Mood: Focused
- Cheat for Promotion:
careers.promote reaper - Tips: File the Death Certificate early after returning to HQ to secure a higher day medal. Meeting the weekly soul quota unlocks Grim’s Box rewards. Accepting a Plea Bargain revives a Sim but does not count a soul toward the quota.
- Random Events: Afterlife Emergency at HQ, Escaped Souls and Grimbrosia assignment, multi-casualty events such as Cowplant Emergency or Laughter Disaster, and Emotional Reapings with Plea Bargains
How to Join
Use the phone or computer and choose Find a Job, then select Reaper. Occasionally Grim may call to invite a Sim to join. The Macabre trait fits thematically and helps with death-related situations.
Workday Flow
Pre-travel preparation at HQ
Practice Reaping on the mannequin, Perform Scythe Maintenance, Research Assignment at a bookshelf, then Scry for Travel at the Scry Bowl.
On-site investigation
Investigate the deceased to Determine Cause of Death, Speak to Witnesses, Investigate Items, then Collect Soul. You may be asked to request a Reaping Review and Return Urn to Family. Some days include Plea Bargains where you decide to revive or reap.
Post-reaping at HQ
Release Souls at the Netherworld Portal, File Death Certificate, Analyse Death Trends, Order Office Supplies, Set Reaping Schedules, and Socialize with Co-workers.
Emergencies
- Afterlife Emergency at HQ: repair Scry Bowl, expel a Mischievous Ghost, recalibrate Grim’s Slablet, repair the Netherworld Portal.
- Escaped Souls: close Netherworld Fissures, collect Lost Souls, harvest Grimbrosia, return to cook and deliver Grimbrosia to Grim.
Weekly Soul Quota
A combined team quota of 25 souls per week. Check progress on a computer at HQ. Meeting the quota improves performance and grants a reward from Grim’s Box upstairs; missing it hurts performance.
