Released on October 31, 2024, The Sims 4: Life & Death introduces bucket lists, grief, wills and heirlooms, playable ghosts, new careers, a cemetery lot type, and the gothic world of Ravenwood. The pack encourages legacy storytelling, occult play, and consequence-driven choices, and offers a tone of mystery, drama, and reflection.

Ravenwood is a gothic world that includes residential and community lots, crypts to explore, and haunted landmarks. Each neighbourhood offers unique settings.

  • Grief System: Four grief types with unique behaviours and coping paths. Grief can follow deaths, divorce, job loss, or pet loss if relevant packs are installed.
  • Wills, Heirlooms, and Guardians: Draft wills at Town Hall, on a computer, or via festival. Assign heirlooms, distribute funds, set guardians and funeral wishes.
  • Crypt Exploration: Enter rabbit-hole crypts to uncover rare items and quest steps.
  • Grimborn: is inherited when Grim Reaper is a parent, granting a longer lifespan and a scythe-shaped birthmark.

  • Community gardening – Ravenwood plots and countryside harvests

Career Track: Reaper Profession
Focus: Work for the Netherworld Department of Death with Grim as your boss. Reap souls, maintain scythes, practice on training dummies, and decide who passes on or returns.

Career Track: Undertaker
Focus: Serve the living and the dead through funerary care. Branches unlock at mid-levels.
