Papercraft Skill Guide – The Sims 4

Skill Info

From first folds to gallery pieces, the Papercraft skill lets Sims create two- and three-dimensional paper art, from origami to papier-mâché décor. Introduced in Adventure Awaits, it’s a 10-level skill for Children, Teens, Young Adults, Adults and Elders. Children also gain Motor and Creativity while levelling Papercraft.

How to Build the Papercraft Skill

  1. Practice at the DIY Delight Papercrafting Kit
Buy it in Build/Buy and use Craft Origami or Craft Paper Mache. New designs and colour variants unlock as you level.
  2. Read skill books
Slower, but good for early levels. Books cap at level 9.
    • Papercraft Vol. 1: Your First Folds and Scraps
    • Papercraft Vol. 2: Precision, Patience, and Papercuts
    • Papercraft Vol. 3: The Origami Culture
  3. Attend a Skill Class (Discover University)
Phone → Business app → Sit in on Skill Class → Papercraft.
  4. Age notes and tie-ins
    • Children build Papercraft plus Motor and Creativity.
    • Traits like Creative or Perfectionist make practice more reliable.
    • Works nicely with Off-the-Grid or eco/handmade playstyles.

Top Tips

  • Sell what you make. List finished pieces on Plopsy or run street sales; wall-mounted heads and “realistic critters” fetch good prices.
  • Colour variants = variety. Re-craft the same form in multiple colours for cohesive room sets or shop inventory.
  • Decorate builds cheaply. Papercraft is a budget-friendly way to theme children’s rooms, schools, and community lots.
  • Kids’ progression. Let Children practice after homework; they’ll raise Papercraft plus Motor and Creativity together.
