The 100 Business Challenge is a legacy style challenge where your Sims must successfully run 100 different types of businesses across one save file. These businesses can be completed by a single Sim or spread across multiple generations. Each business is defined by a set of in game activities rather than strict career paths. From flower shops and fabrication workshops to wellness spas, potion stores, and community venues, if your Sim is providing a service or selling goods, it counts. The challenge encourages creative storytelling, cross pack gameplay, and slower, more intentional progress.
Core Challenge Rules
These rules keep the challenge structured while still allowing flexibility.
1. Complete one business at a time
Each business must be run to completion before moving on to the next. Completion is defined by reaching a five star business rating or your chosen success condition for that business.
2. Play across generations
This challenge is designed to span multiple generations. When one Sim retires, moves on, or dies, the next heir continues the challenge and expands the family business legacy.
3. Business location is flexible
Businesses can be run from a home lot or on a dedicated venue lot. Small hobby based businesses work well from home, while larger venues suit separate lots.
4. Careers are allowed
Sims may have additional jobs, side hustles, or freelance work. However, splitting focus will slow overall progress, so careful planning matters.
5. Use what you own
You do not need every pack to participate. This challenge is designed to work with the content you already have. Mods are optional and welcome, but never required.
Optional Playstyles
If you want to customise how the challenge feels, choose a playstyle that suits how you like to play The Sims 4.
| Playstyle | Best For | How It Works |
|---|---|---|
| Solo Mogul | Challenge focused players, long lifespan saves | One founder Sim attempts to complete all 100 businesses alone. Best suited for players who enjoy optimisation and slow, methodical gameplay. |
| Legacy Tycoon | Storytelling players, family based saves | Each generation completes a set number of businesses before passing the challenge on to the next heir. This is the most balanced and narrative friendly option. |
| Business Randomiser | Variety seekers, unpredictable gameplay | Use a randomiser or wheel to select the next business type. Encourages trying businesses you might normally skip. |
