A realistic painting of a Roman family in Britain, dressed in togas and tunics near a stone villa.

Roman Britain (43 CE – 410 CE)

“From tribal lands to mighty cities — embrace the Roman way or resist the empire.”

Historical Context

In 43 CE, the Romans invaded Britain, bringing advanced engineering, urbanisation, structured government, and organised economies. Cities like Londinium (London) flourished, with paved roads, public baths, heated villas, and bustling markets. Some native Britons resisted, but many adapted — learning Latin, trading goods, and even joining the Roman military.
