The Social Skill is one of four child-specific skills in The Sims 4. It opens the door to future Mischief and Charisma development and helps your Sim navigate conversations, emotions, and empathy — all through play, practice, and plushies!

  • Skill Type: Child Skill
  • Max Level: 10
  • Base Game Compatible
  • Reaching Level 10 unlocks Charisma and Mischief
  • Completing the Social Butterfly Aspiration grants the Socially Gifted trait (boosts Charisma and Mischief learning)

How to Build the Social Skill

Children can build the Social Skill by:

  • Talking to other Sims, toddlers, and children
  • Chatting with toys like stuffed animals
  • Practising speech at a mirror
  • Watching Sim.TV on a computer
  • Using social interactions during play or homework help
