Skill Info
From first shots to expert bow work, the Archery skill lets Sims practise at targets, compete, bowfish, and mentor others. Introduced in Adventure Awaits, it is a five-level minor skill. Children, Teens, Young Adults, Adults, and Elders can all build it. Children also gain Motor while practising. At higher levels Sims unlock better bows and extra activities like Bowfishing.
How to Build the Archery Skill
- Practise at an Archery Target
Buy the Bullseye! Archery Target in Build/Buy. Choose Practice Archery for continuous training or start a Competition when other Sims are present. - Read skill books
Purchase Archery skill books from a bookshelf or computer. Reading is slower than practice but useful between sessions. - Use specific objects or locations
Public lots with targets work well. Camp Gibbi Gibbi has ready-placed targets. Unlock Choose Bow Type at level 3 to swap between Beginner, Advanced, and Expert bows. - Social or interactive methods
Join or start Archery Competitions to gain skill during events. At level 4 you can Mentor other Sims for extra progress. - Age requirements and pack tie-ins

- Adventure Awaits festivals: fitness-themed events include Archery stations
- Level 4 unlocks Bowfishing, which also raises Fishing

- Drill with Practice Archery to level quickly, then switch to competitions for fun and small payouts.
- Bowfishing at level 4 doubles your gains by raising Fishing while training Archery.
- Mentor at level 4 to power-level family members or clubmates.
- Clubs and venues: Add “Use Archery Targets” as a Club activity or enable it on custom venues to keep the range busy in your save.
