Daycare Guide

“Create a warm, playful space where Sims’ little ones can learn, laugh, and grow — while your Sim builds a thriving childcare business!”

🧪 Overview

  • Pack Required: Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack
  • Recommended Packs: Toddler Stuff (for extra furniture), Growing Together (for rich family interactions), Parenthood (for family skills), Seasons (for seasonal activities)
  • Business Type: Child Care Service
  • Skills Used: Parenting, Charisma, Entrepreneur, Cooking (for snacks/meals)
  • Ideal Mood: Playful, Confident, Focused

With the Businesses & Hobbies pack, you can open your own daycare, offering childcare services for babies, toddlers, and children — letting parents work or relax while their little Sims have fun and learn.

🏪 Step 1: Create Your Daycare Business

✅ In Create Business, select Child Care Service as your business type.
✅ Name your daycare, write a fun description, and choose a cheerful icon (like a teddy bear, blocks, or smiley face).
✅ Make sure the Allow Children option is ticked so Sims know it’s a kid-friendly lot.

🏗️ Step 2: Design Your Daycare Space

✅ Build or convert a lot with:

  • Play areas (indoor and outdoor) with toys, slides, and activity tables
  • Napping spots (toddlers need toddler beds or nap mats)
  • Feeding stations (high chairs, snack counters)
  • Toddler potties and child-appropriate bathrooms
  • A cozy reading corner or skill-building area (blocks, drawing tables, tablets)

✨ Bonus: Add a small garden or sandbox for extra outdoor fun.

👶 Step 3: Manage the Children

✅ Set your target customers to Families or Sims with toddlers and children.
✅ Use the Business Activities panel to:

  • Set participation fees
  • Manage the number of children you can care for (keep it balanced with staff)
  • Hire caregivers or assistants if needed

✅ Provide activities like group reading time, art projects, music play, or outdoor games.

🌟 Step 4: Build Skills & Unlock Perks

Parenting Skill: Helps soothe fussy toddlers, teach manners, and guide learning.
Charisma Skill: Improves parent interactions and boosts business reputation.
Entrepreneur Skill: Enhances business management, unlocking faster service and loyalty perks.
Cooking Skill: Prepare nutritious snacks and meals for the kids.

Perks you can unlock:

  • Increased child capacity
  • Lower supply costs
  • Faster caregiver performance
  • Family loyalty bonuses

🚀 Step 5: Expand & Specialise

✅ Offer themed care days, like:

  • Arts & Crafts Day
  • Storytelling Adventures
  • Outdoor Play Picnic
  • Toddler Dance & Music Hour

✅ Add a baby care area if you want to include infants (requires Growing Together).
✅ Consider combining the daycare with a kids’ enrichment centre offering after-school tutoring or hobby classes.

💡 Tips for Success

✨ Keep your Sim in a Playful or Confident mood to handle high-energy kids smoothly.
