🛠️ Core Rules & Setup

Category	Rules
💰 Money	Start with §1,800 on an empty lot. Earn income from ranching, selling horses, crops, crafts, etc.
🐴 Horses	Keep at least 2 horses on the ranch at all times. Raise, train, and sell horses throughout the challenge.
🧒 Children	Follow the aging rules below. Cheats to age up are not allowed.
🐾 Pets (Optional)	You may have 1 additional pet (cat/dog) for flavour.
🏡 Living	Build your ranch over time — off-grid living is optional for extra difficulty.
💕 Romance	You may only have one pregnant/adoptive parent at a time. Partners can visit but not live on the lot.
👵 Legacy	When the matriarch becomes an elder, the youngest eligible daughter takes over. Boys may assist but not lead.

📈 The Goal: 100 Babies and Horses Combined

🎯 To win the Homestead Heroes Challenge, you must raise a combined total of 100 babies and horses.

Each baby raised to teen or older = ✅
Each horse trained and sold = ✅

Example:

• 70 children + 30 horses = 🎉 Challenge Complete!
• 40 children + 60 horses = 🎉 Challenge Complete!

⚠️ You must maintain 2 horses on the ranch at all times — any others may be sold when trained.

🧬 Aging Up: Milestones for Each Life Stage

Life Stage	Requirements to Age Up
👶 Babies	Strong friendship with the matriarch (green bar halfway or more).
👶 Infants	Sit in a highchair, try foods, and find 3 favourite foods.
🍼 Toddlers	Master 2 toddler skills (e.g., Communication, Imagination, Movement, Potty, Thinking).
🧒 Children	Complete 1 child aspiration.
🧑 Teens	Max Horse Riding skill and either: sell their first horse for §3,000 or move out with a horse.
👵 Matriarch	When she becomes an elder, the youngest eligible daughter takes over the legacy.

🎲 Bad Harvest – Lose all crops from one type of plant this season

🎲 Triple Trouble – Next pregnancy results in triplets!
🎲 Thief on the Loose – You lose 20% of household income (pretend taxes/theft)
