The City Native aspiration came with The Sims 4: City Living and is all about exploring the vibrancy of city life. From street festivals and bubble blowers to protests, murals, and karaoke, your Sim will dive headfirst into all the cultural richness San Myshuno offers.

Sims with this trait get better deals at market stalls through haggling and are more successful with city-specific interactions. It’s not a power boost but it makes exploring city life easier and more rewarding!

Stage 1: Tourist

Introduce yourself to someone in Uptown, the Arts Quarter, and the Spice MarketVisit each area via map or festivals. Use Friendly Introduction to complete
Give an apartment key to a friendRequires high friendship. Click on a Sim and choose “Give Apartment Key”
Order 3 times from food stallsFound at festivals and in each city district. Try new dishes to build up your Spice Hound status
Eat 3 different city foodsEach new food item must be unique. Dishes include Ramen, Banh Mi, Samosas, etc. Keep an eye on your Sim’s reactions!

Stage 2: Inhabitant

TaskTips
Achieve Level 3 Singing SkillUse a microphone, karaoke machine, or just practice singing in the mirror/shower
Use a Bubble BlowerFind one in the Spice Market or at festivals. Just click and try it flavours are optional!
Light fireworks at the Humor and Hijinks FestivalAttend the festival (check the calendar), then buy fireworks from stalls and light them up
Use a Karaoke MachineFound in karaoke bars or Uptown. Practice or enter a contest

Stage 3: City Expert

Donate to a protesterLook for active protests (usually at the Arts Quarter or Uptown), then click a protester → “Donate”
Kiss someone at the Romance FestivalBuild up a flirty relationship, then kiss them during the festival for bonus romantic moodlets
Complete a muralPaint one of the community murals (often found in Spice Market or Arts Quarter). Watch out for rain!
Paint a Political MuralUse the Protest mural spot (usually near City Hall) or start a Political Mural after joining the Politician Career (optional)

Stage 4: City Native

Achieve Level 5 Singing SkillKeep singing or do karaoke nights to level up. Vocal Legend career also helps
Win a contest at GeekConAttend GeekCon and enter the Hackathon or Gaming contest. Higher Programming or Video Gaming skill = better chances
Live in an apartment worth §100,000You can buy expensive furniture, renovate existing apartments, or move into a high-value penthouse
Throw a house party in an apartmentUse the phone to Plan Social Event > House Party, and choose your apartment as the location
Make sure it’s clean and decorated to get gold!

Completion Rewards

Once complete, your Sim receives the In the Know trait:

  • Better haggle success at food and item stalls
  • Improved city-specific socials
  • Helps with immersive urban playstyles, especially for social or foodie Sims

  • Track festivals using the in-game calendar or street bulletin boards
  • Combine this aspiration with Food Critic Career for a natural fit
  • Move between different apartment districts to fully experience San Myshuno’s diversity
  • Boost Singing skill faster with Confident moodlets and good acoustics lot traits
