What Is It?

The Academic aspiration (from the Discover University expansion) helps Sims enrol, thrive, and graduate from university. This aspiration focuses on the Research & Debate skill, maintaining a strong GPA, tutoring others, and eventually finding a career where your degree gives you a head start.

Stage 1: Freshman

TaskTips
Achieve Level 3 Research & Debate SkillUse the white computers at Foxbury Commons or a Research Archive Machine. Books work too, but computers are faster
Enrol in a UniversityUse a computer and choose University > Apply to Universities. Choose based on your Sim’s career path

TIP: Apply for scholarships before enrolling. The better your skills, the better your offers and degree options!


Stage 2: Bright-Eyed Student

Achieve Level 5 Research & Debate SkillContinue using archive machines or practice debate on the debate podiums at UBrite
Attend Guest LecturesAvailable at 5–7 PM on weekdays. Click on the Auditorium/Rabbit Hole building
Finish a Course with an A GradeComplete homework daily, submit term papers early, and give final presentations. Keep needs high and mood positive

TIP: Attend every class missing even one lowers your GPA! Always submit term papers early for a boost.


Stage 3: Avid Academic

TaskTips
Have a Term GPA of B or HigherSame tips as above: stay on top of homework, and boost your mood before class
Tutor StudentsClick on the Commons building or class building → Tutor in [Skill]. Your Sim must have at least level 5 in that skill
Achieve Level 6 Research & Debate SkillNow you can contribute knowledge and convince others more effectively

TIP: Tutoring also earns Simoleons great if you’re a broke student!


Stage 4: Senior Scholar

TaskTips
Earn a DegreeComplete 12 credits across multiple terms (typically 3–4 terms). You’ll get a graduation ceremony if done successfully
Contribute Knowledge on a Research Archive MachineAt level 6+ Research & Debate, select “Contribute Knowledge” for a small fame boost too
Get a Job Using a DegreeOnce graduated, your Sim can enter a career at a higher level depending on their GPA and degree

TIP: Degree quality (Honours/Distinction) affects career boost. Max your GPA if you want to skip multiple job levels!
